DESCRIPTION:National Former Prisoner of War (POW) Day honors the courageous men and women who have endured brutal treatment at the hands of their captors.  As a result\, they’ve also suffered separation from family and have displayed incredible endurance and faith.  \nPresident Ronald Reagan proclaimed National Former Prisoners of War Recognition Day on April 1\, 1988 through Presidential Proclamation 5788.  April 9\, 1988 was the first day to recognize the former POW’s.\n

SUMMARY:EXPRESSIVE PAINTING TO MUSIC
DESCRIPTION:The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra (JSO) is announcing their partnership with The Gallery on Gazebo to offer a unique artistic experience combining both music and visual art.  \nMembers of the public are invited to paint along to a live musical performance by the JSO’s Community Strings Ensemble.  \nThe event will be held at the Gallery on Gazebo at 140 Gazebo Place in Johnstown on April 9th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.  The fee for the workshop is $25\, which covers the cost of materials to create a musical masterpiece.  Spaces are limited so early registration is recommended by calling The Gallery on Gazebo at 814-539-4345.
