SUMMARY:PENNDOT PUBLIC MEETING BRIDGE PROJECTS
DESCRIPTION:PennDot is developing bridge replacement plans for bridges on Route 4001 (W. Bakersville Edie Road) and T-364 (Jimtown Road).  A public meeting and plans display for those interested in learning more about these projects is scheduled for March 26\, 2024 from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Bakersville Volunteer Fire Hall at 2341 Bakersville Edie Road\, Somerset.  \nThe project on W. Bakersville Edie Road involves replacement of the existing single-span superstructure over Moore Run. Traffic will follow a detour during construction.\nThe Jimtown Road project consists of replacing the existing one-lane\, single-span Gardner Bridge over Laurel Hill Creek.  A detour will be implemented during construction.\nFor additional information concerning the meeting\, contact Joel Gallagher\, P.E.\,  PennDOT Project Manager at 814-317-3063 or Kelly Jones\, P.E.\, EADS Project Manager at 814-445-6551.

DESCRIPTION:PUBLIC MEETING FOR US 219 MEYERSDALE TO OLD SALISBURY ROAD\, MD PROJECT\nPublic Meeting and Plans Display for Route 219 Meyersdale\, PA \nto Old Salisbury Road\, MD\n Hollidaysburg\, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA)\, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)\, are hosting a second public meeting for the US 219 Meyersdale\, PA to Old Salisbury Road\, MD Project.\nThe project is proposing a new 8-mile long\, four-lane\, limited access facility for US 219 from the end of the Meyersdale Bypass in Pennsylvania to the newly constructed portion of US 219 in Maryland\, that opened in May 2021.\nThe purpose of this public meeting is to share information and receive public comment on the dismissal of some alternatives\, display mapping of detailed field work collected over the last year\, present detailed alternatives and their associated impacts and present local access design options. \nRepresentatives from PennDOT and SHA will be available to answer questions and receive comments regarding the project. There is no formal presentation.
