Our new home is in the historic Shenk Building situated beside Trinity park, only two buildings down from our original location in beautiful Uptown Somerset. We are your one stop shop for eco-friendly products, gifts for your friends and family, local artisan goods and more. Come check us out! Grab a cup of organic, locally roasted coffee or a cold & refreshing cup of PA Kombucha on tap and enjoy it while sitting in the park or strolling the streets of Somerset.  We are newly a bottle sales location for Vin De Matrix Winery, wine and sangria by the bottle, as well as a stop on the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour.

We carry Local raw honey in jars and on tap, local Maple products & seasonings, Refillable Kombucha & water Kefir, bulk teas, spices, herbs, and organic coffee. We also have a large selection of refillable soaps, cleaners, bath & body products, laundry detergent, sunscreen, hand soaps and the like. Some of our best sellers are the shampoo & conditioner bars, beeswax and coconut wax candles, upcycled bags, clothing, & blankets. We pride ourselves in providing our customers with only the best products that are made of clean, natural, chemical-free ingredients that are safe for you and the planet. Our products are low to zero waste and we do not source items that do not fall in line with our values.

Jar The Zero Waste Store & Refillery was established in 2019 and we opened our doors in September of 2020. My name is Jen Barkman and I am the owner/operator. My husband, Rob, and I signed our lease only two weeks before the world shut down in March of 2020. The pandemic made our opening more challenging, however, we persevered despite the state of the world around us. Rob and I, together with our two sons, Jake & Ben, worked tirelessly to open the doors of our small business. We did just that in September of 2020.

We desperately wanted to give our community a place to get eco-friendly and "Good for you" items that we could feel proud of offering. There was nowhere near our rural community to purchase these items without having to ship them or drive into a major city to get them. We are a small family run business and we work mostly with other small businesses to source our products and we carry locally made items where possible.

When you walk through the doors, you will be greeted with a friendly hello, a smiling face, and the pleasing aromas of high quality, natural products, and scents of essential oils, coconut oil, beeswax, coffee, and the like. Everyone always says "It smells so good in here, what is that?" My reply is always "Just everything"!
