On September 15, 2023, the United States will honor National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

Every year since 1989, a presidential proclamation honors the members of the Armed Forces who remain missing in action or are prisoners of war. The POW/MIA Flag is flown over significant national landmarks and government buildings across the country.
