Dual Diagnosis
This course is an introduction to working with clients with co-occurring disorders. It has been designed for substance abuse
counselors who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of the symptoms, medications, and integrated treatment
approaches for the following mental health disorders: mood disorders, anxiety disorders including OCD and PTSD, and
schizophrenia. Participants will learn how the Stages of Change Model is applied to both individual and group counseling with
clients with co-occurring disorders, as well as specific CBT techniques to utilize with each of these disorders.
