    Every year, the town of Shanksville presents a massive, village-wide rummage sale on the first Saturday of June, and every year, the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department satisfies the taste buds of the hordes of hungry bargain hunters with a barbeque at the grove kitchen, 1291 Cornerstone Road, just below the school at the east end

The Somerset County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting this region as a superior locale in which to live, work, vacation and conduct business. Membership consists of all sizes of businesses representing agriculture, financial, health, manufacturing, media, retailing, service, and tourism. Membership also includes various organizations such as service clubs, churches, elected officials, and individual associate members.
